Cornelius E. Tierney, BS, MS, DBA (honoris causa), CPA
Cornelius E. Tierney is a certified public accountant and for almost 25 years was a general partner and the chairman and national director of Ernst & Young's (and earlier Arthur Young's) governmental and public sector practice. He became a professor of accountancy (for undergraduate and graduate corrporate and governmental auditing and graduate accountancy and business and government policy) at The George Washington Univesity. In 1996 Professor Tierney established GWU's Center for Public Financial Management. In 2000 he served as Director of GW's Executive MBA program.
During the 1960s, Neil Tierney ws an assistant director of auditing and an assistant director for accounting (serving with the U.S. General Accounting Office, Office of Economic Opportunity, and Civil Aeronautics Board).
